A Total of 1.854 Million 5G Base Stations Built in China
On July 19, the State Council Information Office held a press conference on the development of industry and informatization in the first half of 2022. At the press conference, Tian Yulong, spokesman and chief engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated that in the first half of the year, China's information and communication industry developed steadily, with the revenue of the telecommunications industry increasing by 8.3%, and revenues from software and information technology services are expected to maintain double-digit growth, while telecom fixed asset investment is up 24.6% year-on-year.
Meanwhile, the information infrastructure has achieved continuous improvement, and a total of 1.854 million 5G base stations have been built and put into operation. Converged applications have been accelerated, the construction of 5G fully-connected factories has been further accelerated, and the Industrial Internet has been widely applied and implemented in various fields of manufacturing. Actions to improve the perception of information and communication services have been carried out, the aging-friendly and barrier-free renovation of Internet applications has been further promoted, and the well-being of all people, including the elderly and the disabled, has been improved. The network security foundation has been continuously consolidated, the prevention and governance of telecommunication network fraud have been further promoted, and the basic telecommunication network has maintained a safe and stable operation.
